Spiritual Retreat 14th to 16th March 2014
at Nuluhon Garden Retreat Centre Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
Welcome to a weekend where you not only will rejuvenate and energize yourself, but where you also will have the chance to come to know spiritual practices that can help you find inner peace and come to know your true deeper self.
This weekend will be including yoga, meditation and practices for better health. Please read the detailed description below. Registration and contact information at the end.
YOGA
During the weekend, we will be practicing physical yoga movements – those have two main objectives: Yoga movements that will support your body to sit comfortable in meditation pose for an extended period. These yoga poses will focus on opening up the hip joints, releasing the knee and ankle joints, relaxing and lengthening the spine and softening and releasing the neck and shoulders. Yoga movements that will support your mind to do meditation. The yoga poses that we will be working with here has the ability to increase concentration, increase will power and stabilize the thoughts and emotions.
MEDITATION
During the meditation sessions you will be introduced to a basic meditation technique and some simple tips that will help you to practice meditation in your every day life. The best way to learn meditation is through practice, so we will be doing kiirtan chanting to prepare the mind followed by quiet meditation time together. In the meditation sessions we will also specifically be looking at the following questions: What is a mantra? How to use it? Why do we use it and how does it help in meditation practice? What is the goal of meditation? Do we really need to do meditation? What is a Cakra? What does it look like? What function does it have?
A healthy body is the base for a spiritual life and for a meditation practice. The healthy body supports the mind to be quiet, serene and to slow down. We will be eating a healthy, vegetarian yogic diet that nurtures and fills you with energy. Every morning there will be a “Qi Circle” that cleanses and detoxes your body.
The fresh, clean air at Nuluhon Retreat centre and the surrounding vibrant and natural environment rejuvenates and fills you up with new energy

The mission of Ananda Marga is two fold. The first is to inspire others to help them find true self knowledge by practicing yoga and meditation and the second is to do service to the poor and those in need in the form of different service and charity projects. She entered a four years intensive training in Sweden where she was isolated from the world and immersed in a deep meditation practice and spiritual life style that completely changed her life and personality. Since 2004 she has been teaching yoga and meditation in Taiwan, Russia, Malta and Sweden.
Now she is teaching in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Didi is also running the Non Governmental Service Organisation Hearts2Africa (www.hearts2africa.se) in Sweden as well as the Joyful Journeys Yoga Holiday Programme (www.joyfuljourneys.eu) where she brings Swedes for a yoga and meditation holiday to Bali and Borneo. Before Didi choose to become a yogic nun, she underwent training in theater, acrobatics and clown in Denmark and California. This is now a foundation in her teachings and makes her workshops and classes both fun and meaningful.
